Global Leadership Summit to address the complex, pressing challenges confronting humanity today as organized by the The World Academy of Art & Science, in partnership with the United Nations at Geneva, in full preparation.

Today the Civil Society and Youth group, one of the 14 Global Leadership working groups, conducted a (virtual) meeting with Brahim Laytouss, section head of BIC-AVERA, as one of the participants.  The focus was centred around preparing proposals for the June 15-19 “Strategies for Transformative Global Leadership” e-conference, one of the events and activities leading up to the “Global Leadership Summit” in Geneva in October 2020.

The working group agreed on the importance of strategies that enhances citizen participation and responsibility in a civil discourse and brings member of society together around shared values, ethics and destinies.  The vision is a global society where everyone can participate in and benefit from working together towards the Greater Good.

BIC-AVERA proposed some specific initiatives and methodologies to involve youngsters, in particular those of minority subgroups, around building blocks for a civil and inclusive society; as well as a digital survey amongst youngster through its extensive network to uncover some of the challenges and opportunities and verify our assumptions.

The workgroup’s goal is to summarize its expertise and findings into a list of relevant key topics with practical recommendations and strategies for the UNOG-WAAS Leadership Summit; and that can be utilized by local, national, European and global policy makers and society groups.
