On a rainy Wednesday evening our skilled tailors  returned to the Phoebus workshop workroom. We began the workshop by deciding to add one more session to the series, allowing the participants to further explore the techniques they have learned over the past few weeks.  That means we have two sessions left! On Sunday April 1st the participants will all meet to go on a day trip to the Museum of Textile and Lace in the centre of Brussels. We will gather again in the workroom on Wednesday, April 4th, to hold one final session in this series of workshops.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected delay, Yousofzai Ahmad could not join us this evening. He will be joining us again for our next session and we  look forward to learning about his tailoring techniques. Despite his absence this week, the participants still found much to learn and do.

The participants were not lacking for things to do though. Moussa arrived at the BIC offices hours ahead of the rest of the participants, to make a custom Senegalese dress to discuss in the workshop. In under two hours Moussa produced a beautiful boubou, made to the measurement of Phoebus project manager Kate Jackson.

Moussa’s presentation led into a vibrant discussion of our workshop's final gown construction project. It is shaping up to be an incredible project, so keep your eyes on this space!
